Gross Motor is defined as using the large muscle groups to sit, stand, walk, run, jump, keep balance, and change direction. The use of these larger or gross movements means that gross motor movement is the forerunner to other developmental aspects of the preschool child, including fine motor, sequencing, coding, left right awareness, and so on.
