Optimus Prime the transformer toy is a personality from the series of toys by that name. The same manufacturer produces the well known cartoons, and feature films also under that name. Though the personality started life as an element of the Japanese toy line called Diaclone, he became fleshed out in detail for the first time as Optimus Prime in the North American toymaker Hasbro's re-branding of the line.
