Underage drinking presents crucial public health issues. The drug of choice among children and adolescents, the abuse of alcohol is associated with the deaths of approximately 5,000 young people under the age of 21 annually as a result of motor vehicle crashes, unintentional injuries, and homicides and suicides, according to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism's Underage Drinking Research Initiative (NIAAA).
